A homemade and simple pie that anyone can make. The perfect combination of sweet and sour apples, tender dough, and juicy sour cream topping—this is incredibly, deliciously good! You can either dice the apples or grate them for an even more delicate texture. If desired, you can substitute pears for the apples. This recipe is definitely worth saving. Serve warm or chilled—perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients from the list. Take the butter out of the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes soft. It is best to use apples of sweet-sour varieties.
- 2
Step 2

In a deep bowl, combine half of the sugar and diced soft butter.
- 3
Step 3

Mix.
- 4
Step 4

Add 1/2 part of sour cream.
- 5
Step 5

Mix. Add the flour and baking powder, reserving 2 tbsp of flour for the batter.
- 6
Step 6

Knead a soft dough. If the dough sticks too much to your hands, you can add a little more flour.
- 7
Step 7

For the batter, in a deep bowl combine the egg, remaining sugar, remaining sour cream, and flour. Mix well.
- 8
Step 8

Roll out the dough and place it into a greased heatproof baking dish, forming high edges with your hands.
- 9
Step 9

Wash the apples, peel them, and remove the cores. Cut them into slices. Place them on the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- 10
Step 10

Pour the prepared topping over the apples in the batter.
- 11
Step 11

I additionally sprinkled the apples with cane sugar; you can replace it with regular sugar, but if your apples are sweet enough, simply skip this step.
- 12
Step 12

Bake the sour cream apple pie in a preheated oven at 170-180 degrees Celsius for 35-40 minutes.
- 13
Step 13

Can be served warm or cold.
