Cheese-filled puff pastry pie
Description
This pie can be made with puff pastry (store-bought or homemade) or filo dough. The recipe comes to us from Greece, so feta cheese is used in the original version, although I think it can be replaced with other cheese varieties. The pie turns out very tasty and light. And if your dough is not frozen, preparation will take less than an hour. It can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Remove the puff pastry from the freezer in advance and let it thaw for 2 hours.
- 2
Step 2
Crumble the cheese into a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk 3 chicken eggs and milk, then add this mixture to the bowl with cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 3
Step 3
Roll out each sheet of puff pastry to fit the form, so that small edges can be made.

Step 4
Grease the baking pan with butter, place a sheet of puff pastry in it, and brush it with butter. Then spread the cheese filling evenly and cover it with the second sheet of pastry.

Step 5
Beat the remaining chicken egg and brush the top layer of the dough with it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.

Step 6
Remove the finished cake from the oven and let it sit for 15 minutes, then cut into pieces and serve.
