Pie with frozen cranberries
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. This is the cake I especially love making in winter, as cranberries remind me most of this season. Although in reality, this cake is always delicious, especially with a cup of strong coffee or a mug of warm milk! The preparation process is not labor-intensive, so baking this cake is pure pleasure. So, here's how I make it.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
First, it is necessary to preheat the oven to 250 degrees.
- 2
Step 2
Mix the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl.
- 3
Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients—flour, oats, baking powder, and salt.
- 4
Step 4
Gradually add the dry ingredients mixture to the butter and sugar mixture.
- 5
Step 5
Grind the peanuts.
- 6
Step 6
Add the peanuts to the mixture and knead. The dough should have large lumps.
- 7
Step 7
Place the dough into the baking pan. You need to level the top, as the dough will serve as the base layer.
- 8
Step 8
Place the dough in the oven to bake for 15 minutes.
- 9
Step 9
While the dough is baking, we will prepare the cranberry syrup. Pour water (1 cup) into a saucepan and add all the cranberries.
- 10
Step 10
Constantly stir the cranberries. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for another 15 minutes.
- 11
Step 11
Take out the dough. Carefully cut it crosswise into two layers.
- 12
Step 12
Place the cranberries on the bottom.
- 13
Step 13
Crumble the top layer and sprinkle the crumbs over the cranberries.
- 14
Step 14
Return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
- 15
Step 15
Let the pie cool slightly before serving. It's better not to serve it hot, as the cranberries can burn your tongue.
- 16
Step 16
It's really great to serve the pie with ice cream or whipped cream.
