
Apple pie (open-faced)
Description

First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Sift the flour and mix with salt. Cut the softened butter into cubes, add to the flour, and rub thoroughly into crumbs. Gradually add cold water and knead the dough.

Roll the dough into a ball, divide it into two parts. Wrap one part in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes, while rolling out the second part into a thin sheet on a floured surface.

Grease the baking pan with butter, place the rolled dough into the pan, shaping the edges. Put the dough in the refrigerator.

Roll out the second part of the dough into a sheet and cut it into strips.

Let's prepare the filling. Wash the apples, peel and dice them finely. Mix with brown and white sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir well to ensure the spices and sugar are evenly distributed throughout.

Take the mold with dough out of the refrigerator, evenly distribute the apple filling, and create a "lattice" pattern using the dough strips. Brush the dough surface with eggs beaten together with milk. Sprinkle with cinnamon and place in the oven. Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes, then continue baking at 180°C for 45 minutes.
