Cherry pie made with layered yeast dough
Description
Cherry pies are my favorite treat—I really love cherries because of their perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. Plus, the berries pair well with other fruits, spices, and alcohol. These pies are perfect for a small buffet or gatherings with friends. Preparation takes no more than 30–40 minutes, which is very convenient and practical.
Instructions

Step 1

1. I use ready-made dough, dividing it into 2 equal parts. I roll out one part to fit the pan (mine is round), then place it and spread it evenly.
- 2
Step 2

2. Place the frozen cherries into the dough-lined pan and spread them out.
- 3
Step 3

3. Pour a spoonful of cognac over the cherries (you can add a bit more, but don't overdo it).
- 4
Step 4

4. Add granulated sugar (the amount can be reduced to taste) and sprinkle everything with cinnamon.
- 5
Step 5

5. Roll out the second half of the dough, then transfer it to the pan, seal the edges and cover the top. Prick the dough with a fork so it doesn't puff up too much during baking.

Step 6

6. I put the pie into a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes. I decorate the hot pie with cinnamon and serve it at the table.
