Jam pie without eggs
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. You can add various spices, dried fruits, nuts, and more to this cake. The amount of sugar and flour may differ from mine, as the jam plays a big role: the thicker the jam, the less flour you'll need; the sweeter the jam, the less sugar required. I used thick cherry jam, which is quite sweet with a slight tartness, so I even used a bit less than 150 g of sugar, and it turned out wonderfully. Let's talk about the cake's color—it varies each time depending on the jam used. Dark cakes result from jams made of blue plums, mulberries, or cherries. Lighter ones come from apricot, gooseberry, apple, pear, etc. Do try this cake—I'd be delighted to receive your feedback and photo reports! Good luck! Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients for the pie. I'm using natural unfiltered apple juice, but you can substitute it with any other juice you have at home. In addition to sesame seeds, nuts, and poppy seeds, you can also add some raisins or apricots. Let's get started!

Step 2

2. In a deep container, mix odorless vegetable oil with juice, jam, and sugar. The jam should not be too thick, rather uniform in consistency. I often bake using cherry jam, as I like the dark color and flavor of the cake. Apricot or plum jam will also work perfectly.

Step 3

3. In another dry container, combine flour with baking powder and cinnamon. You can additionally add a pinch of cardamom or ginger, nutmeg. I only use homemade baking powder in my recipes, so I'm certain the baked goods will rise properly and turn out fluffy.

Step 4

4. Toast the shelled walnuts in a dry skillet until slightly aromatic, then remove and let cool. Chop them coarsely—avoid grinding too finely so that larger pieces remain.

Step 5

5. Add nuts, sesame, and poppy seeds to the dough.
- 6
Step 6

6. Mix well; the mixture will be quite thick, but it won't hold its shape and will spread out—that's how it should be.

Step 7

7. Line the baking pan with parchment paper, grease with oil, and pour in the batter, smoothing it with a spatula or spoon. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and place the cake in to bake.

Step 8

8. After 40 minutes, my cake was ready. However, adjust the time individually depending on your oven, anywhere from 40 to 50 minutes should be sufficient. Check for doneness with a wooden skewer—it should come out dry from the baked dough. Let the cake cool, slice it, and serve.
