Open pumpkin pie
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. This sunny, bright, and delicious pie can be served with tea as a dish on its own! It does not take too long to make, and the dough is prepared in several stages. For the filling, lightly stew the pumpkin and onion — that way they become softer and more aromatic. Do not forget to add cheese — with it the pie will be even tastier. You can serve it with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients for making an open pumpkin pie.
- 2
Step 2

Sift all the wheat flour into a suitable bowl. Into the same bowl, grate the cold butter on a grater.
- 3
Step 3

Add the sugar and salt to the dough and mix. Add the sour cream and a little water.
- 4
Step 4

Knead the dough and roll it into a ball. Leave it to rest for 15-20 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

While the dough rests, prepare the filling. Peel the pumpkin and slice it into thin planks. Sauté the pumpkin in a pan for 2–3 minutes. Add a little butter. This will make the pumpkin softer.
- 6
Step 6

Cut the red onion into half rings and lightly sauté it in a pan. Fry for 20–30 seconds.
- 7
Step 7

Roll out the rested dough into a thin round flatbread.
- 8
Step 8

Place all the filling in the centre, leaving the edges free. Spread the sautéed pumpkin and onion, then sprinkle grated cheese over the top of the pie.
- 9
Step 9

Fold the free edges of the dough upward, pinching them lightly together.
- 10
Step 10

Bake the pie in the oven at 190 degrees for about 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.
- 11
Step 11

Serve the finished pumpkin pie warm — it’s delicious!
- 12
Step 12

Ready. Serve to the table.
