Meat pie in a pan
Description
Pies are usually fried in a large amount of oil on a skillet, but you can actually bake a pie right in the pan. Here's the recipe for a meat pie cooked on a skillet. It's quite simple—the most important thing is to bake the pie over very low heat so that it cooks through without burning. Ready to cook? Let me show you how.

Step 1

Prepare the dough. Pour kefir into a bowl, add eggs, salt, sugar, and melted margarine. Extinguish the baking soda with vinegar and add it to the mixture. Mix well, then gradually add flour to form the dough. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

Step 2

Cut the meat into small pieces, peel the onion and finely chop it. Heat butter and vegetable oil in a frying pan. If you are making the filling with veal or pork, first sauté the meat, then add the onion and continue cooking until the meat is almost done. If you are using chicken, first sauté the onion until soft, then add the chicken pieces and cook for about 10 minutes.

Step 3

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips. Mix the potatoes with the meat, salt and pepper. The pie filling is ready.

Step 4

Separate about two-thirds of the dough, roll it out into a circle slightly larger than the diameter of the pan—approximately 30 cm. Place the dough into the greased pan, shaping the edges to form the sides.

Step 5

Spread the filling in an even layer.

Step 6

Roll out the remaining dough and cover the top of the pie. Carefully seal the edges. Place a second skillet of the same size on top of the pie and cook over low heat for 35 minutes. Grease the second skillet as well. Then flip the pie onto the skillet that was used as a lid and bake for another 30 minutes.
