Meat pie on kefir
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. You can use any type of meat for the pie. However, be sure to lightly fry the meat with potatoes before adding it to the filling; otherwise, the raw meat will simply clump together into a flat patty when baked. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

To prepare the pie, gather all the necessary ingredients. Sift the flour for the dough through a sieve to enrich it with oxygen.
- 2
Step 2

To prepare the dough, pour the kefir into a bowl and add the baking soda. Mix well.
- 3
Step 3

The baking soda will immediately react with the kefir, and bubbles will start to appear.
- 4
Step 4

Add egg and salt to the bowl.
- 5
Step 5

Gradually add flour and knead the dough. Use the desired dough consistency as a guide for the amount of flour. The dough should turn out soft and pliable, barely sticking to your hands. Cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest while you prepare the filling.
- 6
Step 6

To prepare the filling, sauté finely chopped onion for 1-2 minutes.
- 7
Step 7

Then add the minced meat to the frying pan.
- 8
Step 8

Dice the potatoes.
- 9
Step 9

Add the potatoes to the minced meat. Mix everything together. Add salt and spices to taste. Fry together for 5-10 minutes until half-cooked.
- 10
Step 10

Divide the dough into 2 unequal parts. Spread the larger part over the bottom of the pan, forming the edges.
- 11
Step 11

Place the prepared filling onto the dough.
- 12
Step 12

Cover the top of the pie with the smaller piece of dough. Brush the top of the pie with egg yolk, milk, or vegetable oil. Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for approximately 40-50 minutes, adjusting according to your oven.
- 13
Step 13

The finished cake will turn golden. Remove it from the oven and let it cool.
- 14
Step 14

Enjoy your meal!
- 15
Step 15

The pastry is ready. Serve with tea.
