
Pie with Moyvoy
Description
The pastry is prepared simply and quickly. This pie can be made not as a snack for tea, but as a full‑featured standalone dish. It is a tasty savory pie. Serve it cooled or slightly warm.

Step 1

1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water. In a large bowl, crack an egg, pour in the yeast, add salt, sugar and flour. Knead the dough, add vegetable oil and knead again. Let the dough rest for 1 hour.

2. Filling. Rinse the smelt well, clean it, cut off the head and remove the spine. Salt. Peel the potatoes and onion. Slice the potatoes thinly. Onion – in rings. Cook the rice.

3. Take out the dough, knead it and divide it into two balls of different sizes. The larger ball should be rolled out and placed on a butter‑greased baking sheet. Divide the potatoes, rice, and onion in half. Arrange slices of potato on the dough. On top, spread the boiled rice, then add the onion onto the rice. Do not forget to salt the filling. Finally, place our capelin on the onion.

4. Place 2–3 bay leaves on the base, season with salt and pepper. Then put the remaining onion, rice, and potatoes on the base. Roll out the second portion of dough and close the pie with this layer. Seal the pie well and brush it with egg.

5. The pie is baked at 180 degrees. If you like cheese, you can sprinkle grated cheese on top of the pie. It will be even tastier.
