
Chicken and bacon pie

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Grease the baking dish with the melted butter. Cut the chicken into cubes and the bacon into 1 cm wide strips. Mix pepper, flour, and almonds in a plastic bag, add the cubed chicken, and shake well to coat each piece evenly with the spice mixture.

2. Finely chop the onion and leek. Spread half of the onion and leek in a layer on the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the chicken and bacon. Add another layer of onion and chicken-bacon mixture. Pour the remaining melted butter and broth into the dish.

3. Mix the margarine and vegetable oil in a bowl, then add the flour. Stir until fine crumbs form. Add 3 tablespoons of water to the dough and mix with a knife. Knead the dough by hand and shape it into a ball. Wrap the dough ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for half an hour.

4. After half an hour, take the dough out of the refrigerator, remove the plastic wrap, and smooth the dough with your hands. Generously flour the work surface. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to fit the size of your baking dish, moisten the edges of the dish with water so the dough sticks to them. Place the dough over the chicken and seal the edges. Make 3 large slits in the dough to allow steam to escape. Brush the dough with milk.

5. Bake for 1 hour, or until the dough is golden brown and the chicken is cooked through. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes. Pour the cream into the slits in the dough and let stand for another 10 minutes before serving with vegetables of your choice.
