Pie with potatoes and meat
Description
Homemade pastry for tea. For the pie, I use beef, which I mince into ground meat using a meat grinder. Along with the meat, I fill the pie with potatoes, carrots, onions, and pork fat (which adds special juiciness). You can add any spices to taste and vary the dish with vegetables such as peppers or zucchini. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Take the ready-made dough out of the refrigerator in advance. Preheat the oven to 200-210 degrees. Grind the meat into minced meat, adding fatback.
- 2
Step 2
Peel the garlic and finely chop it. In a frying pan, sauté the ground meat with garlic in vegetable oil, then transfer the cooked meat to a bowl.
- 3
Step 3
Cut the carrots into small cubes, sauté them in a pan after the meat, then add the onion diced into cubes. Boil the potatoes in advance, also cut into cubes. Add the carrots, onion, and potatoes to the minced meat, season with salt and pepper to taste, and add thyme.

Step 4
Mix the beef broth with the flour and stir, pour into the skillet and cook until a thick mass forms. Pour the resulting sauce over the filling and mix.
- 5
Step 5
Roll out the prepared dough and divide it into 2 parts. Line the baking pan with parchment paper, place one part of the dough inside, shaping the edges.
- 6
Step 6
Place the filling onto the dough, then cover with the second rolled-out sheet. Beat an egg with water (1 tablespoon) and brush the dough with the mixture.
- 7
Step 7
Place in the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, until a golden crust forms. Cover the pie with foil 20 minutes before the end of baking.
- 8
Step 8
Remove the finished cake from the oven and leave it to cool.
