Potato, bacon and cheese pie
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. I want to share with you a wonderful and simple idea. Serve warm or chilled. Ideal with tea.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. First, finely chop the bacon and fry it in a skillet. Remove from heat and transfer to a paper towel to drain excess fat.
- 2
Step 2

2. Meanwhile, add the peeled and sliced onion (in half-rings or diced) to the skillet where the bacon was fried. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until golden brown.
- 3
Step 3

3. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly. This is important so they have time to cook thoroughly. Season with salt to taste, and add pepper and chopped herbs if desired. Mix well.
- 4
Step 4

4. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. On one half of the dough, leaving a small border, place the potatoes.
- 5
Step 5

5. Next, spread the fried onions and bacon. Grate the cheese and sprinkle it over the ingredients.

Step 6

6. Carefully cover with the second half of the dough, seal the edges. Make a few small cuts on top to allow steam to escape. Beat the egg yolk and brush it over the pie. Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 180 degrees.

Step 7

7. Bake until a golden crust forms, about 40-50 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving, then slice.
