Caviar pie
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. You can make a larger pie by doubling the ingredients if you have a large family. You can bake several pies and store them wrapped in parchment paper in the refrigerator. The dish keeps for 2 days. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Cod roe can be replaced with pollock roe or capelin roe.
- 2
Step 2

Melt the lard or margarine in a double boiler or in the microwave, but do not bring it to a boil. Crack a chicken egg into the container with the fat and add two pinches of salt. Whisk.
- 3
Step 3

Add the wheat flour and knead the dough. Do not add baking powder, or the pie base will puff up while baking.
- 4
Step 4

Leave the shortcrust dough in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Meanwhile, prepare the filling from cod roe, ryazhenka, egg, and salt. Mix everything thoroughly together.
- 6
Step 6

Spread the dough in the pan in a thin layer, going up the sides. It must be a thin layer — that’s important! Pour the prepared caviar mixture into the center and place the pan in an oven preheated to 200 degrees. Bake for about 35 minutes until golden brown.
- 7
Step 7

Remove the baked pie from the oven and let it cool.
- 8
Step 8

Serve the pie chilled with tea or wine.
