Pear and Cherry Pie
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Shape the dough into 2 rectangles. Chill the dough. In a bowl, combine pears, cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt, pepper, and spice. Place one dough rectangle onto a baking sheet. Spread the pear and cherry filling over the dough, leaving 2.5-centimeter borders on all sides. Brush the edges with beaten egg. Place the second dough rectangle on top and press down gently. Chill for 20 minutes. Transfer to a baking sheet. Trim the edges and brush the top with beaten egg. Cut five 12-centimeter slits into the top of the pie. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until golden brown, about 35 minutes. Transfer the pie to a wire rack and let cool for 20 minutes before serving. The finished dessert is ready to be served.
