Pie with walnuts and apricots
Description
It goes perfectly with tea and coffee. I call this walnut and apricot pie a bachelor’s pie because of how extremely simple it is to make. In fact, I don’t even know how this pie could be ruined—it is insanely easy to prepare, yet it always turns out very tasty and, importantly for bachelors, filling and nutritious. In general, this kind of pie is usually liked by everyone—both children and adults. Good luck with your baking. The pastry is ready. Serve it to the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Let's start by preparing the dough. Mix the flour with the butter, beat, and, without stopping beating, add the sugar, egg, and cinnamon. Place the resulting dough into a baking dish lightly greased with butter.
- 2
Step 2

Place the walnuts in a dry frying pan and toast them for about 5 minutes. The nuts should dry out slightly.
- 3
Step 3

In a mortar, grind or blend the walnuts, egg white, and a tiny bit of sugar until smooth.
- 4
Step 4

Spread the resulting nut mixture over the dough, leaving about 1 cm around the edges.
- 5
Step 5

Arrange apricots on top (I use canned ones, as I don’t have any fresh and tasty ones available).
- 6
Step 6

Place our baking dish in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes at 180 degrees.
- 7
Step 7

Remove from the oven and serve warm or cooled.
