Meat and mushroom pie
Description
Personally, I especially love the juiciness of the filling provided by the raw mushrooms. However, this is far from the only charm of this pie. I can confidently say that if you try making this simple minced meat and mushroom pie recipe, you won't be disappointed. Shall we begin? It's not as difficult as it seems :) 1. Thaw the minced meat, and in the meantime, let's prepare the dough. Warm the kefir slightly on the stove, then add sugar and yeast, mix well. Add the egg and salt as well. 2. Now it's really simple—without stopping the stirring, gradually add flour to the mixture until the dough becomes soft and slightly sticky to the touch. Once you reach this consistency, stop adding flour. Instead, knead in the vegetable oil. This will help the dough detach from your hands and become more pliable. Cover with a towel and place in a warm spot to rise. Now let's prepare the filling for this minced meat and mushroom pie recipe. 3. First, as usual, comes the chopping stage—cut the mushrooms into fairly large pieces, and chop the onion as you prefer, depending on how you'd like it to appear in the pie. 4. Sauté the onion in vegetable oil until half-cooked, then add the minced meat. Cook over medium heat until the meat is fully done. Season with salt, pepper, and spices to taste. 5. Now comes my secret to the aroma and juiciness of this filling—turn off the heat and add the raw mushrooms. Stir well and taste once more. If it seems bland, feel free to add herbs, mustard, or other seasonings to taste. 6. Lightly grease a baking tray with vegetable oil and pour the dough onto it, gently spreading it into an even round. Place the filling in the center, then fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching them together to seal—though of course, you can shape and present the pie however you find convenient and appealing :) Often, people also add about half a cup of broth or simply warm water to the filling for extra juiciness. But even without this addition, the final result will delight you :) Now place the pie in the oven and bake at 190°C (375°F), checking occasionally with a spatula. Once it easily releases from the tray, it's ready to be taken out. This minced meat and mushroom pie recipe is one of my favorites, and my guests have always been absolutely thrilled, even tearfully begging me to reveal the secrets of its preparation :) I'm sure that if you make it, your diners will react exactly the same way. Serve it cooled down or slightly warm.
