
Cauliflower and Cheese Pie
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. This vegetable pie is perfect for a light dinner. The baking is ready. Serve at the table.

1. Peel the onion. Grate the cheese. Chop the rosemary and basil. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Break the cauliflower into medium florets. Place in a saucepan with a teaspoon of salt, cover with water and simmer over low heat for 15–20 minutes, until the cauliflower becomes soft. Drain the water and transfer the cauliflower to a colander. Let it sit for several minutes to allow the excess water to drain and the cauliflower to cool down.

2. Meanwhile, prepare the dough. Cut the onion in half. Set aside several thin rings from one half. Coarsely chop the remaining onion. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté the chopped onion and rosemary together until soft, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

3. Beat the eggs, olive oil, and onion mixture together. Add basil. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, turmeric, cheese, 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and black pepper, then add to the egg mixture. Add cauliflower and gently mix.

4. Line the pie dish with parchment paper and grease with oil. Sprinkle sesame seeds so that they stick to the sides. Pour the batter into the dish and top with onion rings. Bake the pie in the center of the oven for 45 minutes, until golden brown.
