
Cherry pie
Description
Homemade pastry for tea. Cooking it is very interesting. If desired, this cake can be all‑season. Because the filling can be made from any berries and fruits. You can place it on a festive table as a dessert, or delight your family at a Sunday dinner. It can be served with tea or coffee.

1. To make the dough, you will need a deep bowl and a mixer. Place sifted flour, salt, sugar, butter, and water into the bowl. Beat the entire mixture with the mixer until the dough forms large lumps.

2. Now remove the mixer and work with your hands. Knead the dough into a round, firm ball. Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for an hour.

3. The cherries should be washed and each berry cut in half and the pit removed. Place the prepared cherries in a separate pot and pour in a glass of water, not full (190 ml). Put it on the heat and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes.

4. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar with the starch and add it to the cherries. Stir thoroughly so that the sugar and starch are completely dissolved and cook for about 5 minutes until the filling thickens. Set the pot with the filling aside to let it cool.

5. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and cut it into two parts. One part for the top of the pie will be smaller. From the larger portion of the dough you will need to roll out a round pancake. Grease the baking pan with butter and place our pancake on the bottom of the pan.

6. Pour the cherry filling carefully over the dough.

7. Roll out the second portion of the dough and cut it into thin strips. These strips should be arranged on the pie in a braid. You can lay the strips however you like, as you wish. Preheat the oven in advance to 175 °C. The pie bakes for about 45 minutes. When the pie has cooled, cut it into serving pieces and enjoy a hot tea with the wonderful pie.
