Broccoli Pie
Description
Delicious baked treat for the whole family. Broccoli pie is one of my absolute favorite pies. It doesn't require much effort to prepare, but the taste... is beyond words. Of course, broccoli itself is rather bland, but when you add some good cheese, the broccoli pie turns out excellent. I found the recipe on a French cooking website and slightly simplified it in the Russian style—now I'm sharing it with you. I really like it, and I hope you will too :) Serve it cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Roll out 2/3 of the ready-made puff pastry thinly.
- 2
Step 2

2. Place the dough into the mold, trim the excess dough at the edges using a rolling pin. Then put the dough in the mold into the freezer for 10 minutes.
- 3
Step 3

3. Place baking paper on the dough, and on top of it - rice or peas. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes, then remove the rice or peas and the paper, prick with a fork (to prevent rising), and bake in the oven for another five minutes.

Step 4

4. The finished dough will be golden in color. The dough must cool down.
- 5
Step 5

5. Clean and blanch the broccoli for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.
- 6
Step 6

6. In a skillet, sauté the leek in oil for 10 minutes until soft. Add the cream, water, tarragon, chives, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well and simmer over heat for another five minutes.
- 7
Step 7

7. Mix the filling once again. The prepared portion of our filling will look like the one shown in the photo.
- 8
Step 8

8. Pour the filling into the pie crust, place the broccoli on top, and gently press them into the mixture with your hands. Do the same with the gorgonzola (if you've decided to add it).
- 9
Step 9

9. Cover the pie with the remaining dough, brush the top with beaten egg, and bake in the oven for half an hour until a golden-brown crust forms.
- 10
Step 10

10. The pie can be eaten both hot and cold.
