
Apple Pie with Aromatic Apples
Description
The baking is simple and quick. Literally every homemaker can prepare this pie! There's nothing complicated in the process. Yet, the pie turns out juicy, aromatic, and very delicious. It's perfect with a cup of tea or coffee, and enjoyed by both adults and children.

Prepare the dough. In a deep bowl, combine sifted flour, salt, and sugar. Add softened butter and mix. Continue kneading the dough, gradually adding cold water. Shape the dough into a ball, refrigerate for 2 hours, then divide into two portions and roll out.

Let's prepare the filling. Rinse and peel the apples, then cut them into large slices. Place them in a saucepan, pour in water, and bring to a boil. Then transfer the apples to a separate bowl and pour the remaining boiling water over them.

Cover the apples with plastic wrap and let them sit for 10 minutes in this form.

Drain the apples into a colander and let all the liquid drain off. This will take about 10 minutes.

Add salt, sugar, and cinnamon to the apples, as well as cornstarch.

Thoroughly mix the apples so that the salt, sugar, cinnamon, and starch are evenly distributed over the entire surface.

Grease the baking pan with butter and place the rolled-out dough on it. Spread the apple filling on top.

Cover the apples with the second layer of dough, trim the excess, make cuts on top, and brush the surface of the pie with beaten eggs.

Place the pie in an oven preheated to 180–200 degrees. Bake for 25 minutes, then let the pie cool for 2 hours after baking.
