Pie
Description
Delicious baked goods for the whole family. This pie will please me with its original shape and excellent taste. One pie combines two pies at once – with meat and cheese. My son, who practically doesn't eat meat, has really taken to the cheese part of the pie and eats only that. This pie is good for a weekend day when you want to delight your family with something tasty. Try it and enjoy Serve it cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

In warm milk (about 30‑35 °C) dissolve the yeast, add 1 tbsp sugar, and let it sit for 10 minutes so the yeast begins to work.
- 3
Step 3

Then add one egg and 50 g of melted butter. Stir.
- 4
Step 4

Start adding flour gradually and mixing. Then transfer the dough to a work surface and knead a soft, fairly elastic dough. You may need less or more flour, depending on the quality of the flour. The dough should not become too stiff. If you see that it already has a good consistency but is still slightly sticky to the hands, grease your hands with vegetable oil and knead the dough further.
- 5
Step 5

Cover the dough with a clean towel and place it in a warm spot for 40‑60 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

While the dough is rising, let's work on the filling. Finely chop the onion and sauté it in a pan with vegetable oil.
- 7
Step 7

Add the ground meat, mix well until it becomes crumbly. Salt and pepper. Fry the ground meat until done.
- 8
Step 8

Grate the cheese using a coarse grater.
- 9
Step 9

In the meantime, the dough has risen. It has increased in volume threefold.
- 10
Step 10

Divide the dough into two unequal parts. Roll out the larger portion to a thickness of 5‑7 mm. Transfer this sheet of dough onto a baking tray greased with vegetable oil.
- 11
Step 11

Place the fried ground meat in the center. Make a 3 cm‑wide cheese rim around the edge. Be sure to leave at least 1 cm of dough to the edge so you can seal it.
- 12
Step 12

Cover the pie on top with a second layer of dough. Using a plate of appropriate diameter, make a shallow indentation.
- 13
Step 13

Make cuts along the edge of the pie and unfold the cut piece of dough to create a sort of petal. Brush the pie with egg. In the middle, sprinkle with poppy seeds – this imitates seeds.
- 14
Step 14

Bake the pie in the oven at 180 °C for 25–30 minutes until the top is golden and the dough is fully cooked.
- 15
Step 15

Here’s how the pie turned out in cross‑section.
