Mayonnaise pie
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. Today I made a cake that's not too sweet and slightly moist. It's great for breakfast or as a dessert after dinner—warm, with a piece of butter, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. There are countless mayonnaise-based savory cakes, including casserole-style ones. The choice of filling is up to you—any taste you prefer. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Grease the baking pan with a thin layer of oil.
- 2
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix sugar, mayonnaise, milk, applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add the egg and mix quickly.
- 3
Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix the sifted flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
- 4
Step 4
Add the dry ingredients to the first bowl in parts, but do not mix the batter for too long, otherwise the cake will become too dense. The batter should be quite thick.
- 5
Step 5
Place the dough in the prepared pan and bake until done, about 35-40 minutes.
- 6
Step 6
Serve the pie warm, with a piece of butter, sprinkled with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
