Puff pastry pie
Description
Homemade pastries for tea. Ready-made dough often comes in handy. You don't necessarily have to buy it at the store—you can make it yourself and freeze it, then use it when needed. The pie can be prepared with a sweet filling, such as cottage cheese, berries, fruits, or chocolate. Alternatively, you can make it with seafood, fish, meat, herbs, and cheese. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Wash the spinach and place it in a saucepan, pour two tablespoons of water over it and put the saucepan on the stove. Simmer covered for 3 minutes.
- 2
Step 2
Place the greens in a colander and squeeze out excess liquid. Then chop coarsely.
- 3
Step 3
Peel the onion and garlic, then finely chop. Heat a frying pan with olive oil and add the onion. Fry until golden, then add the garlic one minute before the end of cooking.
- 4
Step 4
Transfer the spinach to a separate bowl and mix it with nutmeg.
- 5
Step 5
Divide the dough into 2 parts, roll out the larger part into a thin layer and place it into a round baking pan, forming the edges.
- 6
Step 6
Place the fried onions over the spinach, add cheese, and mix. Spread the filling inside.
- 7
Step 7
Roll out the second layer of dough and place it over the filling, use a knife to create a decorative pattern, and brush the pie with beaten egg.
- 8
Step 8
Decorate the pie with sesame seeds and bake in a preheated oven at 200-220 degrees for about 20-30 minutes.
- 9
Step 9
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool, then cut it into pieces and serve.
