1. Rub the soft butter with salt and sugar. Slightly warm the milk, add the yeast to it, and let it sit for about 10 minutes.

2. Pour the sponge into a deep bowl, add butter and eggs. Begin mixing, gradually adding sifted flour.

3. When the dough is ready, cover it with a towel and leave it in a warm place for an hour or an hour and a half, allowing it to rise properly.

4. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Boil the rice in salted water until cooked. Let it cool slightly, then mix with the canned fish (in this case, sardines). Finely chop the onion and sauté in a pan until translucent. Add grated carrots and cook until soft. Transfer the vegetables to a bowl, season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.

5. The dough has risen well. Divide it in half and roll each piece out thinly.
