Pizza in style
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to prepare. Traditional German pretzels are made from yeast dough, sprinkled with salt, and baked in an oven. Essentially, a pretzel is the same thing as a pretzel roll. Today, we'll make a pretzel using puff pastry, filled with cheese, tomato sauce, and pepperoni. It will be incredibly delicious! Plus, it's fast, since we'll be using ready-made puff pastry. This pretzel-style pizza comes together very quickly and can even be made for breakfast, for example, on a weekend day when you have time to spend in the kitchen. Serve it cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. I recommend using yeast-free puff pastry, but yeast pastry will also work.
- 2
Step 2

Slice the sausages into thin pieces, cut part of the hard cheese into thin strips, and grate the remaining part on a coarse grater.
- 3
Step 3

Cut the dough into strips 3 cm wide. Roll out the strips with a rolling pin to lengthen them.
- 4
Step 4

Spread each strip with ketchup or tomato paste and place cheese sticks on top.
- 5
Step 5

Seal the edges of the dough to form a tube.
- 6
Step 6

Roll the strips into pretzel shapes. Place the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each pretzel with beaten egg.
- 7
Step 7

Sprinkle the pretzels with grated hard cheese and place several slices of sausage on top. Sprinkle with dried oregano.
- 8
Step 8

Bake the pretzels in the oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes. Pretzel-style pizza is ready. Serve it hot.
