Pizza on the grill
Description
The recipe won't take much time. The filling can be very diverse, pizza is quite simple to make and will be a great addition to a meal outdoors. You can prepare the dough in advance at home using your favorite recipe, or opt for a pre‑made pizza base, which is easy to find in stores these days. Serve it warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients. It is preferable to make the dough in advance at home, as it is not always possible in a dacha setting, or buy a ready-made pizza base from the store. If you are using a frozen pizza base, thaw it first and brush both sides with olive oil. Let it rise.

Step 2

I have homemade yeast dough, specially prepared for pizza; I roll it out into a circle or stretch it by hand and place it on an oiled pan suitable for cooking on a grill.
- 3
Step 3

Spread the dough on top with tomato or any other sauce and sprinkle with oregano. Oregano can be substituted with a blend of dried Italian or Provençal herbs.
- 4
Step 4

Spread the topping on top. The pizza topping can be very diverse, it all depends on your taste preferences. I have smoked sausage sliced into rounds, mushrooms sliced into planks, and tomatoes sliced into wedges.
- 5
Step 5

Grate the cheese or crumble it by hand and sprinkle it on top.
- 6
Step 6

Place a grill grate on the barbecue and lay the pizza on top. Cook over the coals until the bottom side is browned.
- 7
Step 7

To ensure the cheese melts well, cover the pizza at the very end with a special lid or a piece of foil.

Step 8

The pizza on the grill is ready.
