
Shortbread cake
Description
The pastry is easy and quick to prepare. It's actually a very simple idea. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

1. Put the nuts in a blender and grind them. In this case, walnuts are used, but you can use any nuts you prefer.

2. Place half of the nuts (if you plan to add them to the cream, set the other half aside for now) into a deep bowl, and add softened butter.

3. Mix thoroughly and add the eggs.

4. Then add the sifted flour and sugar.

5. Knead a smooth dough, then refrigerate it for about an hour.

6. Turn on the oven and preheat to 200 degrees. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.

7. Roll out each piece thinly on parchment paper. Cut out a neat circle using a plate.

9. The cake layers bake quite quickly: the first one takes about 7 minutes, and the subsequent ones need only 5 minutes.

10. When all the cakes are ready and cooling, you can start preparing the cream. In a deep bowl, combine the egg yolks and sugar.

11. Beat until smooth. For flavor, you can add vanilla extract or liqueur to taste.
