Shortcrust pastry with mayonnaise
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Although mayonnaise, typically used for salad dressings and marinades, is included in this recipe, dough made with mayonnaise works well for baking various desserts: cookies, pies, gingerbreads, and more. One of the key points in preparation is that all ingredients should be at room temperature. The dough can be prepared in advance and frozen, or used immediately. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.

Step 1

1. I take the eggs and mayonnaise out of the refrigerator in advance. I put all the ingredients into a bowl, add granulated sugar, and mix.

Step 2

2. Then I add baking soda to the mixture, without neutralizing it with vinegar, and vanilla sugar. I gradually add part of the flour, but not all at once, mixing each time until smooth and free of lumps.

3. Chop the butter finely with a knife or grate it, then add it to the bowl with the other ingredients. Mix with a blender until smooth.

Step 4

4. Place the flour mixture onto a surface dusted with wheat flour, knead until you get an elastic dough, adding the remaining flour as needed. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30–40 minutes; then it is ready to use.
