Shortbread cookies with nuts
Description
You can use any type of nuts: walnuts, peanuts, hazelnuts, cashews, etc. I chose walnuts. Be sure to taste them first to make sure they are not rancid, otherwise they will spoil the entire dessert. If desired, you can toast the nuts in a skillet until golden brown, then let them cool. This will make them easier to chop. Butter can be substituted with high-quality margarine, but not with spread. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Grind the walnut kernels in a blender or in a bag using a rolling pin.
- 2
Step 2

Beat the chicken egg into a deep container, add sugar and salt. Add a little vanilla sugar or other sweet spices.
- 3
Step 3

Beat everything with a whisk for 2-3 minutes until fluffy foam forms. The mixture should slightly whiten and increase in volume.
- 4
Step 4

Melt the butter or margarine in the microwave or in a pan, then pour it into the container, mixing immediately.
- 5
Step 5

Add the chopped nut kernels and mix again. The dough will immediately acquire a rich aroma.
- 6
Step 6

Add the premium wheat flour and baking powder. If baking powder is not available, replace it with 1 tsp of baking soda, neutralized with 6% vinegar.
- 7
Step 7

Knead the dough thoroughly and shape it into a round ball. Divide it into equal parts.
- 8
Step 8

Line a baking pan or tray with parchment paper and shape the dough portions into small balls by rolling them in your palms. Flatten them and place on the paper, spacing them evenly apart. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- 9
Step 9

Bake the nut cookies for 15-20 minutes until golden brown, then place them on a plate. Let them cool slightly, and they will become crisp and crunchy. Serve with drinks or jam. Enjoy your meal!
