
Shortbread cookies with sour cream
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. This cookie requires very few ingredients and can even be made by a beginner. The baked goods turn out very aromatic and crumbly, literally melting in your mouth. Serve warm or chilled. Ideal with tea.

Sift the flour into a bowl several times through a sieve. Then add cold butter, cut into cubes, to the flour. Add sugar to taste.

Place the sour cream into a separate bowl. Then add the baking powder to it. You can substitute it with regular baking soda.

With your hands, rub the flour, butter, and sugar together into fine crumbs. Rub thoroughly until the crumbs are as fine as possible.

When the sour cream, together with the baking powder or baking soda, increases in volume, add it to the crumb mixture of flour, butter, and sugar. Mix everything thoroughly.

Knead a soft dough and roll it out on a work surface into a 1-centimeter-thick sheet. Then cut the dough into small squares with a knife. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sugar.

Transfer the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees and bake the cookies for twenty minutes. Let the baked goods cool and serve.
