Shortbread cookies
Description
The recipe won't take much time. These are cookies from childhood. I remember how my grandmother used to make them for us with currant jam or cherries. Recently, I accidentally came across my grandmother's recipe. The pastry is ready. Serve it at the table.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Melt the butter in a microwave or in a saucepan over low heat.
- 2
Step 2

Beat the warm butter with 200 grams of warm milk at medium speed.
- 3
Step 3

In a bowl, mix 600 g of flour and 3⁄4 tsp of yeast.
- 4
Step 4

Add 100 g of vegetable oil to the mixture of milk and butter. Incorporate this mixture into the flour mixture and knead until you have a soft dough.
- 5
Step 5

Divide the dough into 5 parts.
- 6
Step 6

Roll out the dough into a circle and sprinkle with sugar.
- 7
Step 7

Divide the circle into 12 small triangles. Use thick jam so the filling doesn't leak out.
- 8
Step 8

Roll the dough into crescents. Let the crescents rise; this may take up to 2 hours.
- 9
Step 9

Place the crescent rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 180°C. While the cookies are still warm, generously sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
