Description

Delicious baked treats for the whole family. This recipe yields about 24 cookies. Instead of browned butter, you can use regular softened butter. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.

    1. Prepare browned butter. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook until the butter turns brown and develops a nutty aroma, stirring frequently. Watch carefully, as it can burn in just a few seconds. Transfer the butter to a bowl and chill in the freezer for 30 minutes.

    2. Remove peach pits and cut the peaches into pieces. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees. Grease a baking dish with butter. In a bowl, whisk together sugar, baking powder, flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix the solidified browned butter into the flour mixture using a blender, fork, or fingers until it resembles crumbs. The dough should be crumbly. Press 3/4 of the dough into the prepared baking dish, firmly pressing the crumbs onto the surface. Arrange peach slices in a single layer on top.

    3. Evenly spread the remaining crumbs over the peaches and bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes, until the top turns slightly brown. Let cool completely in the pan, then remove from the pan and cut into squares.
