
Quail with apples baked in the oven
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Baked quail are delicious served with mashed potatoes or sauerkraut, or with boiled pasta. Serve them with a berry sauce if you plan to serve without a side dish. Don't forget fresh herbs and pickles. Serve hot.

Prepare the listed ingredients. Rinse the quail carcasses under water and dry them with paper towels. Cut off the long neck.

Stretch the skin over the hole at the bottom and make slits on the sides, insert the legs crosswise into them. The tucked legs won't char or turn black.

Wash the apples in water and cut them in half. Remove the cores and slice them. Place the slices in a baking dish.

Place the quail carcasses on the apples.

Salt the carcasses inside and out, add pepper. If desired, you can add other seasonings, spices, or herbs.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the quails for about 20-25 minutes. Halfway through baking, brush them with oil. Judge by the golden-brown crust, keeping in mind that the birds are small and cook very quickly!
