Prepare the vegetables. Shred the cabbage, grate the carrots, press the garlic, cut the bell pepper into slices, and remove the seeds with a knife.

Now we prepare the marinade. For the marinade we need 1.5 liters of water, which we pour into a saucepan. Set the heat to medium, add soy sauce, vegetable oil, chili pepper, sugar, and salt to the water. Mix everything and wait until the water comes to a boil. Then add the vinegar and turn off the heat.

In a bowl, mix the cabbage, garlic, carrot, and pepper. Pour the marinade into the bowl and mix everything together. Refrigerate for 4 hours, then pack into jars.

After the Korean-style pepper has marinated in the refrigerator, it can be eaten right away. But it is better to let it marinate for a few more days.
