Canned Peppers

Description

I especially like this recipe because the peppers are packed into the jars blanched and essentially marinate in their own juice, since there is practically no water in the recipe. The canned peppers can be served as an appetizer, or added to various salads—the result is also very tasty and unusual. The jars keep for up to a year in a cool place.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

    Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

First, prepare the marinade. To do this, mix water, sugar, salt, vegetable oil, and table vinegar. Also add a couple of bay leaves, peppercorns, and garlic cloves cut into several pieces to the marinade. Place the marinade over heat and bring to a boil.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

While the marinade comes to a boil, wash the peppers, remove the stems and seeds, and cut into medium-width strips.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Send about one-third of the total peppers into the marinade and simmer for 15 minutes. Don’t worry if there isn’t much marinade—while simmering, the peppers will release their juices and will essentially cook in their own juice.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

The boiled pepper became soft and shrank in size.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

While the peppers are boiling, prepare the jar—wash and sterilize it and the lid. Place each batch of peppers in the jar.

When the jar is full, seal it with a metal lid. Store the jar in a dark, cool place.
