Penne with chicken and asparagus
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. This is a simple recipe for penne with chicken and asparagus. First, boil the asparagus: place the spears into lightly salted boiling water and cook for about 4-5 minutes, then drain in a colander. By the way, if someone in your family doesn't like overly tender dishes, you can always add meat, such as bacon. Cut the bacon into strips and fry in a pan over high heat until crispy. Cooking the penne is simple. Place a pot of water on the stove, add salt and a little olive oil. Once the water is boiling, add the penne, stir, and cook for about 10-12 minutes. Finally, prepare a creamy cheese sauce, sauté the chicken pieces, then mix everything together. Good luck! The finished dish is ready to serve.

Step 1

1. Mix the spices—basil, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper—in a small bowl. Cut the chicken breast into cubes. Season the chicken with the spice mixture. Sauté in vegetable oil over medium-high heat until golden brown, about 10–12 minutes, then transfer to a plate. Cook the penne according to package instructions, drain, reserving half a cup of the pasta cooking water. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Add the pressed garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Gradually whisk in the milk and cream. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Add the cooked penne and stir to combine.
