Dumplings with cherry and cottage cheese
Description
The recipe won't take much time. We'll knead the dough using whey. I had some leftover from making homemade cottage cheese by curdling sour milk. Dough made with whey holds its shape well; dumplings or dumplings won't fall apart during cooking, and the juicy filling stays inside. Details: Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients. Wash the cherries.
- 2
Step 2

Sift the flour and a pinch of salt into a bowl, making a well in the center. Pour in a glass of buttermilk and knead until smooth. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let the gluten swell for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, you can remove the pits from the cherries.
- 3
Step 3

Place a pot of water on the stove. Divide the dough into 4 parts, roll each into a sausage shape. Cut each sausage into equal pieces.
- 4
Step 4

Roll each piece into a thin round. Place sugar, cottage cheese, and a cherry in the center. Fold the round in half and pinch the edges to seal. Then bring the ends together and secure them firmly.

Step 5

Drop the sweet dumplings into boiling salted water, stirring with a spatula to prevent them from sticking to the bottom. Bring the water back to a boil and cook the dumplings for 5-7 minutes until done. Drain the water.

Step 6

Serve hot with sour cream or berry sauce.
