
Baked Onion in the Microwave
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Here is an interesting, unusual recipe for baked onion in the microwave with a very tasty filling made from simple ingredients. You have to fuss with each onion, but the final result is worth it. The dish turns out very nutritious. Such an unusual idea will greatly surprise your friends and delight your household. When buying onions, be sure to choose bulbs 7–8 cm in diameter—wide ones. Give it a try, especially if you've never stuffed and baked onions before. Serve the appetizer to the table.

1. Take large onions of the same diameter. Peel them so that the top stem and the root base remain. Parboil the onions in a small amount of water beforehand (but do not keep them for more than 5 minutes).

2. Cut off the top third of the onion bulb. From the remaining two-thirds, prepare “cups” for stuffing. To do this, squeeze the bulb in your left hand so the center is pushed out, freeing up the inner cavity. Place the onion “cups” upside down so any remaining water can drain off.

3. Finely chop the squeezed onion. Place it on a preheated skillet. Pour in the broth. Cook off all the liquid. Then add vegetable oil. Braise the onion until it develops a pleasant caramel aroma and color.

4. Remove the onion from the heat. Add the breadcrumbs to it. Mix. Pour in the egg white. Season with pepper to taste. Combine everything.

5. Fill the onion “cups” with the ground meat filling and cover them with the cut-off top of the onion. Place in a microwave-safe dish.
