Homemade Valentine's Day cookies
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. Using simple letter stencils, you can easily make unusual festive cookies. Serve with tea or coffee.

1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cocoa powder in a bowl. Set aside.

2. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together on medium speed using a mixer.

3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, continuing to beat. Add the flour mixture in two or three batches, beating after each addition.

4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap or place it in a resealable plastic bag and refrigerate for two hours.

5. To make the cookies, preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 5–10 minutes. Roll out to a thickness of 6 mm and cut into hearts using a cookie cutter.

6. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12 minutes in the oven. Let the cookies cool completely.

7. Place the stencils on the cooled cookies. Cover any parts of the cookies that might accidentally get dusted with powdered sugar using pieces of paper. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the stencil cutouts to create phrases like "Love you," "Be mine," etc.

8. Carefully remove the stencils and paper with tweezers to prevent the powdered sugar from scattering. Use a small brush to fix any mistakes.
