Cookies
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. This delicious and crispy treat goes by various names, but most commonly it's simply called "Ears." When my daughter was little, and she was told these were "Ear" cookies, she nicknamed them "Elephant Ears" because of their size :) Since then, in our family, these cookies have been known by that name. Want to bake some and treat your loved ones? Let me tell you how.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Take the ready-made puff pastry out of the freezer and place it on the table to thaw. You can use pastry either in sheets, like I have, or as a single layer.
- 2
Step 2

While the dough is thawing, let's prepare the chocolate fondant. Melt the chocolate with butter in a double boiler.
- 3
Step 3

And mix thoroughly until smooth.
- 4
Step 4

Add cocoa and powdered sugar. And again mix thoroughly.
- 5
Step 5

Put it in the refrigerator and let it set slightly (!!!).
- 6
Step 6

Place one-third of the chocolate fondant on one sheet of dough and spread it evenly over the entire surface with a knife.
- 7
Step 7

Mark the center of the dough sheet and roll one edge of the dough with fondant towards the center. Then, in exactly the same way, roll the second edge.
- 8
Step 8

This is what the cookie dough will look like.
- 9
Step 9

Slice the resulting double sausage into rounds about 1 cm thick using a sharp knife. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 10
Step 10

Now press the cookies a bit to make them half as thick.
- 11
Step 11

And bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees. I baked mine with convection for about 10-12 minutes. Don't stray too far from the stove—cookies bake quickly! I looked away for a moment, and the cookies on the edges got slightly burnt :(
- 12
Step 12

Remove the cooled cookies from the baking sheet. Time for tea :)
