Cookies with green tea
Description
This recipe won’t take much time. Green tea cookies are probably my children’s favorite cookies. You can’t bake these cookies on the sly as a surprise—while they’re in the oven, the wonderful smell fills the whole apartment, and everyone leaves their screens to crowd around the oven window, impatiently waiting for the green tea cookies to finally be done. The cookies really are quite unusual—definitely worth trying. They pair nicely with warm tea and warm milk. You can serve them with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and spread the almonds on the foil. Roast the almonds for about 8–10 minutes, then transfer the nuts to a food processor.
- 2
Step 2

Chop the almonds finely, but not to crumbs. Small pieces of almond may remain.
- 3
Step 3

Mix the almonds with the flour and set aside.
- 4
Step 4

Mix butter that has cooled to room temperature and softened slightly thoroughly with powdered sugar.
- 5
Step 5

Add green tea leaves to the oil mixture (if yours are large, chop them finely) and mix thoroughly. The mixture should turn green, and you should barely feel the tea leaves in it anymore.
- 6
Step 6

Sprinkle a mixture of flour and almonds into our green mass.
- 7
Step 7

Quickly knead the dough.
- 8
Step 8

It only takes one minute for you to get smooth, soft dough.
- 9
Step 9

Divide the resulting dough roughly into 15 pieces and shape each piece into a ball. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 10
Step 10

Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and bake for 20–25 minutes (depending on your oven; I bake for exactly 22 minutes).
- 11
Step 11

Cool the finished cookies, dust with powdered sugar, and serve. ;)
