Fortune cookie

Description

The recipe won't take much time. Fortune cookies are one of the easiest treats to make. First, prepare the fortunes by writing them on narrow strips of paper. Lately, many people bake these cookies for New Year's tables or wedding celebrations.

   Melt the butter in a double boiler.

   Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

   Add the sifted flour, powdered sugar, vanilla, and melted butter to the egg whites. Gently mix the batter with a whisk until the mixture becomes smooth and uniform.

   Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a thin layer 3 mm thick, and cut out circles using a small round cutter.

   Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 180 degrees for 8-10 minutes, until only the edges turn golden.

   Place the cookies on a rack on the table, and while they are still soft, quickly insert a strip of paper with a fortune into each one, then fold the round cookie in half, and then in half again.

   Before serving, let the liver cool completely and arrange it on a nice serving dish.
