
Cookies with caramel
Description
Perfect with tea and coffee. A recipe for cookies decorated with caramel apples. This recipe yields one dozen cookies. Your children will surely want to join you in making this treat. Serve warm or chilled. Ideal with tea.

Step 1

1. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together. Add the flour from 1 box and beat. Beat in the egg, then add the flour from the second box and mix until smooth. Add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture becomes slightly sticky and a bit moist. If needed, add a little extra flour. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the freezer for 30 minutes or in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about 1 cm thickness. Cut out cookies using a round cutter or cookie stamp. Place them 5-7 cm apart on the baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.

2. Make stick handles for the apples using the remaining dough. Then roll out the dough to a thickness of 6 mm and cut out apple shapes using a mold. Attach the sticks to the apples and bake on a baking sheet for 7-8 minutes. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating.

3. Melt half of the caramels in a small saucepan with 1 tablespoon of water. Pour the caramel over the cookies and apples on top.

4. While the caramel is still liquid, place the apples on top of the cookies so they stick to it.
