Cookies for New Year
Description
Tasty baked goods for the whole family. Our piglets will be tanned and not so much! :) Additionally, we will need round cookie cutters of various diameters, a drinking straw. I also used a boomerang‑shaped mold to make ears, but that’s not necessary at all. You can cut simple triangles for the ears or come up with something else; the process is quite creative! In more detail, serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.
Instructions

Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

Step 2

The dough is more convenient to knead right away in two separate containers. Be sure to sift the flour, cocoa, and powdered sugar. In one bowl combine: 120 grams of flour, cocoa, and 50 grams of powdered sugar. In the second: 150 grams of flour and 50 grams of powdered sugar. Also split the vanilla sugar in half.

Step 3

In each bowl add 30 g of sour cream and 60 g of soft butter. Knead a soft light and dark dough. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour; if, on the contrary, it doesn’t form a ball, add a little more sour cream. Wrap each ball in a bag and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 4

After the time has elapsed, roll out the dough into a sheet 0.5 cm thick and use cutters to make piglets. Make holes in the heel with a drinking straw. Roll the eyes into small balls from pieces of dough.

Step 5

Before placing the decoration (pressing it in slightly) onto the main cookie circle, brush the cookie with egg white using a pastry brush. During baking, the decoration will stick to the cookie and stay firmly in place. Bake the prepared cookies for 15–16 minutes at 180–190 °C.

Step 6

Our charming piglets are ready! Store the cooled cookies in a well‑sealed box or bag.
