Cookies
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. I've been using this recipe for several years now. Cookies shaped like this fairy-tale character will become a delightful treat and a beautiful decoration for a festive table. They can be wrapped in gift packaging and presented to family, acquaintances, or friends. If you have enough time and imagination, you can make other fairy-tale characters as well. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions

Step 1

1. For the shortcrust dough: place butter into the bowl of a mixer, add 135 grams of powdered sugar, milk, and egg yolk. Sift wheat flour beforehand and add it to the bowl, knead the dough, then refrigerate for 30-60 minutes. Take the dough out, roll it out into a sheet 0.5–1 centimeter thick. Cut a special shape out of cardboard and place it onto the dough. Cut out the shapes.

2. Place the molds on a baking sheet and put them in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for 13-15 minutes.

Step 3

3. For the glaze: I place the chilled egg whites into a clean, dry bowl, whisk them with a whisk, and gradually add powdered sugar in portions. From the total mass, I measure out 50 milliliters and mix it with beige-colored food coloring. Using a piping bag, I apply the colored glaze to the desired areas.

Step 4

4. Mix a small portion of the glaze (50 ml) with light gray paint and continue decorating the figures.

Step 5

5. Divide the remaining icing into 2 parts, leave one part white, and mix the second part with red food coloring. Decorate the remaining parts.

Step 6

6. I leave the cookies in a warm place for 30 minutes so that the icing sets slightly. Then I draw the faces using an edible marker. I leave the finished cookies in a warm and dry place for 10–12 hours, then serve them or pack them into special boxes.
