Description
For unusual cookies, take classic shortbread dough with standard proportions: 1-2-3. For 1 part sugar, add 2 parts butter and 3 parts flour. Cookies can be stored for several days, so they can be prepared in advance before the holiday and kept in a tightly closed metal box. See detailed recipe below.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients. For the white dough: 150 g flour, 100 g butter, 50 g sugar.
- 2
Step 2

For chocolate dough: 130 g flour, 1 tbsp cocoa, 100 g butter, 50 g sugar.
- 3
Step 3

Beat sugar and butter in a food processor until smooth, add sifted flour, and mix only until the dough begins to come together into a ball. Similarly, prepare the chocolate dough. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 4
Step 4

Divide the white dough into 16 equal parts. Roll into strips and coil them into spirals.
- 5
Step 5

Roll out the chocolate dough into a 5 mm thick sheet. Cut out circles for the faces, eyes, and noses (if desired, you can replace them with chocolate chips). Attach triangular ears to the faces and fold them. Use a toothpick to draw a mouth on the face circle. Another variation of face cookies can be made using a "heart" cutter. A white heart will be the face, and a chocolate one cut in half will serve as the ears.

Step 6

Bake the face-shaped cookies in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 15 minutes. Let cool completely. Happy New Year!
