Cookies
Description
Delicious baked treats for the whole family. Making shortbread cookies is easy. Simply mix flour, butter or margarine, eggs, and sugar. I recommend adding lemon zest or vanilla as well. I also add a pinch of baking soda or baking powder (just in case). I rarely use butter in baking—instead, I substitute it with baking margarine: cheap and effective! By the way, prepared shortcrust dough can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. It also bakes quickly. Since the astrological Year of the Horse is called the Year of the Green (or Blue) Horse, you can decorate the cookies in exactly that color. To get a green horse, squeeze the juice from spinach and mix it with powdered sugar.
