Description
The recipe won't take much time. The dough for classic shortbread cookies is made using the 1:2:3 principle. Simple ingredient ratios that are easy to remember. 1 part sugar or powdered sugar, 2 parts high‑quality butter, and 3 parts wheat flour. Store the finished cookies in an airtight container. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Combine the softened butter with powdered sugar and beat with a mixer until smooth.

Add sifted flour and a pinch of salt, knead a soft dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Divide the dough into 2 parts for easier shaping of the cookies. Roll each part on parchment into a rectangular sheet, 0.7–1 cm thick. Cut into rectangles, squares, or diamonds. Prick the dough with a fork. Place in a preheated oven at 200 °C for 15 minutes.
