
Pavlova
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Pavlova is a traditional dessert in Australian and New Zealand cuisine. It was invented by Australian pastry chef Herbert Saxelby and named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Using a mixer, beat egg whites and cream of tartar in a large container until stiff peaks form. Gradually add sugar, one tablespoon at a time, continuously beating until the mixture thickens. Add the remaining three teaspoons of cornstarch mixed with the last tablespoon of sugar. Mix in vanilla extract and vinegar.

2. Draw a circle on parchment paper. Place the parchment paper on the work surface and sprinkle with flour. Using a spoon, place the meringue onto the parchment paper. Shape the meringue into a circle following the drawn circle, making the edges higher and the center lower.

3. Reduce the oven temperature to 100 degrees. Bake for 1 ¼ - 1 ½ hours. Turn off the oven and open the door. Let cool without removing from the oven.

4. Spread the cake with cream and decorate with strawberries. Serve.
